6 Hurt, Including 2 CPD Officers, in West Side Crash

Two Chicago police officers were hurt and four other people were taken to local hospitals after a three-car crash on the city’s West Side Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the crash involved a squad car and two other vehicles near the intersection of Washington and Kenton in the city’s West Garfield Park neighborhood.

Authorities say that two officers who were in the police vehicle were taken to Rush Hospital, but their current condition is unknown.

A second vehicle had two occupants inside. One was taken to Stroger Hospital, and the other was taken to Mount Sinai. Both are in serious condition with unknown injuries, according to police.

A third vehicle, which also had two occupants, was also involved in the crash. One person in the car was treated and released from the scene, and the other was taken to Loretto Hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.

Police have not announced further information on the circumstances of the crash, and an investigation is underway.
