Police were on the scene of a crash Friday morning on Interstate 94 in Gurnee that involved five vehicles and a semi-truck.
The crash happened around 10:49 p.m. at milemarker 9.5 near Grand Avenue and involved three SUV trucks, two cars and a semi, according to Illinois State Police.
Several people were transported to area hospitals after the crash, police said.
The two right lanes of westbound traffic were shut down while police investigated the scene.
Details surrounding the crash were not immediately available, but police said one car was flipped on its side.
The crash caused traffic delays in the area, which is near the exit for Six Flags Great America.
