$500 K Bail for Accused Baby Thrower

A suburban Chicago man is being held on $500,000 bond for allegedly throwing his 5-week-old son to the floor, the Sun-Times reports. 

Joseph Bilik is charged with aggravated battery to a child, a class X felony. The 26-year-old father is a resident of Grayslake.
 
"The father violently threw the child to the floor. On the way down the baby hit its head on a metal safe. After bouncing off that, the baby hit the floor," Matt McCutcheon, operations commander for the Grayslake Police Department. "We are told the child is recovering."

About his motive, cops would only say that he Bilik was angry at the time.

Class X felonies are punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
