Friday night's storm left damage in its wake in the Chicago area. Up to 4,400 people have been affected by power outages, and more than 400 downed trees have been reported.
There are currently 232 active outages, according to ComEd. In Cook County, there were 1,200 outages reported, with the rest coming from Lake, Will and Kankakee Counties.
The Chicago Depratment of Streets and Sanitation has responded to 418 requests from downed trees, according to Molly Poppe, a spokesperson for the department.
Poppe spoke from the home of Cardinal Francis George, where Streets and Sanitation was clearing branches. The city will only clear up debris from city property, Poppe said. The rest must be removed by owners.
