A 41-year-old man is dead after he was ejected from his vehicle while driving on Lincoln Highway in suburban Lynwood on Sunday morning.
According to police, the man, identified as Abel Munoz of Mokena, was driving his vehicle westbound in Lincoln Highway when he attempted to drive onto the ramp to northbound Illinois 394 at approximately 6:08 a.m.
The man then lost control of his vehicle and drove off the roadway and onto the embankment near the road, police said. The man was ejected from his vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was closed for nearly four hours as police investigated the crash.
