4 Wounded, 1 Critically, in Drive-By Shooting Outside Birthday Party

Officials said two men and two women were entering a gathering in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood when someone in a passing car opened fire

Four people were wounded in a drive-by shooting at a gathering on Chicago's West Side early Sunday, according to police.

Authorities said the shooting occurred around 1 a.m. in the 3200 block of West Division Street in the city's West Humboldt Park neighborhood. 

Officials said two men and two women were entering a gathering when someone in a passing car fired shots. 

A 19-year-old woman was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the neck, according to Chicago police. 

Another woman, 30, was shot in the forearm and was taken to Norwegian Hospital in good condition, officials said. 

A 24-year-old man was shot in the lower back, according to police, and a 21-year-old man was shot in the hand. Both were taken to Norwegian Hospital where they were listed in stable and good condition, respectively. 

Officials said it is unknown if any of the four victims knew each other. Video of the scene appeared to show decorations for a 30th birthday party inside the venue. 

According to Chicago police, no one is in custody and Area North detectives are investigating.

The victims of Sunday's shooting were among 24 people shot across Chicago so far this weekend, authorities said.
