4 Charged in Car Chase Ending in Western Suburbs

Four people were charged in connection with a car chase that began on the West Side of Chicago and ended on foot in suburban Elmhurst.

Antonio Heard, 24, and Devonte Walton, 22, were both charged with two counts of unlawful posession of a firearm by a gang member in a vehicle, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

One 16-year-old man was charged with three felonies related to gun possession, and one for attempting to flee, and one count of driving a stolen vehicle. A 17-year-old man was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Late Friday night, Chicago Police officers observed offenders in a vehicle in the 3800 block of W. Madison shooting at another vehicle. Officers pursued the suspects on I-290 until losing sight of the vehicle.

Later, the Illinois State Police observed the same vehicle entering west suburban Elmhurst, where four men proceeded to flee on foot. State and Elmhurst police officers pursued and apprehended the men and recovered two weapons.
