Chicago Police warn residents about the recent burglaries and ask for help

Police on Wednesday warned Lincoln Park residents about four burglaries in the Chicago neighborhood that occurred within three days last week.

In each case, the burglar entered through a rear door or window and removed personal property before leaving, police said. The first incident happened between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Aug. 21 in the 500 block of West Belden Avenue.

The other three robberies all happened Aug 24, between 9 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on the 400 block of West Belden Avenue, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the 600 block of West Fullerton Parkway, and around 10 p.m. on the 2200 block of North Lincoln Avenue.

A description of the burglar was not released, and police warn residents to be aware of the crime and alert neighbors. They also ask that residents lock doors and windows, and be sure to activate alarms and video surveillance systems if available. Call 911 and provide a detailed description of the robber, including a vehicle description and license plate information.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8382.
