$300,000 Bond Set for Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen

Marco Geronimo-Ocampo is accused of assaulting 14-year-old girl in Humboldt Park

A judge set a $300,000 bond Monday for a West Side man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl near Humboldt Park last week.

Marco Geronimo-Ocampo, 29, was arrested Sunday and charged with felony criminal sexual assault and kidnapping.

Authorities say Geronimo-Ocampo followed a 14-year-old girl walking from a gas station in the 2800 block of West Division and offered to pay her for sex shortly after midnight Saturday. After the girl refused, police say he forced her to a nearby fenced-in yard and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect was arrested after tipsters identified him from surveillance photos released by police.

Geronimo-Ocampo's next court date was set for Sept. 2.
