3 Northwestern University Buildings Evacuated

The buildings were located on the university's Evanston Campus

Three Northwestern University buildings on the Evanston campus were evacuated Monday afternoon during an electrical problem.

The problem started in an electrical vault outside the Technological Institute at 2145 Sheridan Rd., according to a university alert.

The Technological Institute, the Ford Motor Company Engineering Design Center at 2133 Sheridan, and the Center for Catalysis and Surface Science at 2137 Tech Dr. were all evacuated, the alert said.

No one was injured.

Commonwealth Edison, the Evanston fire department, police department and university police remain on the scene Monday afternoon.
