Three people were hospitalized in a shooting outside a Cicero home Sunday, officials said.
Attendees at two different partied at adjacent homes in the 1400 block of Austin Boulevard apparently got into a verbal argument that was quickly broken up, said Cicero spokesman Ray Hanania. But 30 minutes later, the dispute continued outside one of the homes, sparking gun fire that injured three party-goers.
Officials said a man in his 20s was shot in the chest, thigh and butt, a woman in her 20s was shot in the leg and a man in his late 30s was shot in the groin.
All three were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The woman was treated and released but both men required surgery and remain at the hospital in good condition.
Cicero police said the incident is not gang-related and is being investigated. No charges have been filed against any of the individuals involved.
