Did you win the Illinois lottery this year? You may have, without even knowing it.
Lottery officials are urging anyone who purchased a ticket in Illinois in 2011 to check their numbers. They could have one of 77 tickets worth about $2.4 million still unclaimed, the lottery board said Tuesday.
Five Mega Millions tickets worth $250,000 each are still out there. They were purchased Jan. 4 in Bolingbrook, Feb. 1 in Herrin, May 27 in Decatur, June 7 in Crete and Sept. 27 in DeKalb. The first of the tickets are set to expire on Jan. 4, a year after purchase.
Four Powerball second-place tickets are worth $200,000 each. They were sold Jan. 15 in Lombard, March 26 in Round Lake Park, Sept. 21 in Westchester and Nov. 2 in Chicago.
The Illinois Lottery says 19 Little Lotto prizes, ranging from $20,000 to $650,000, and 47 $1,000 St. Patrick’s Day Raffle tickets also are still outstanding.
