$2.25 Million Winning Lotto Ticket Sold at Northwest Suburban Gas Station

Check your tickets! A $2.25 million winning Lotto ticket was sold at a gas station in northwest suburban Cary last week.

The winning ticket was purchased at Thornton’s, located at 800 Northwest Highway, and matched all six numbers – 02, 11, 31, 36, 37, 48 – to win the jackpot prize in the drawing on Nov. 17, according to a release from the Illinois Lottery.

The lottery urged the winner to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the lottery's five prize centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.

The gas station will receive a $22,500 bonus, 1 percent of the prize, for selling the winning ticket.
