Standout Race: Van Dyk broke a course record at the 2004 Boston Marathon, becoming the first contestant ever to complete the race faster than one hour 20 minutes. Van Dyk has won the Boston Marathon an astound nine times, most recently taking the title in 2010.

More About Ernst van Dyk: Van Dyk began playing sports at an early age despite being born without legs. Today the South African native holds multiple Paralympic medals and marathon championships, including a gold medal from the 2016 Rio Games in the Men's Cycle Road Race.
