2014 Elite Female Runners: Florence Kiplagat

While much of the attention on the women's side has been directed toward training partners Rita Jeptoo and Jemima Sumgong, Florence Kiplagat believes she can come in and steal the show.

And she has the credentials to back it up.

Kiplagat won the first marathon she ever entered, taking the Berlin title in 2011. She's also the half-marathon world champion.

The Kenyan runner pulled out of the 2012 Chicago Marathon with an injury, but she's focused on improving on her 2:19:44 personal best in this year's race. "Florence is definitely one to watch out for," race director Carey Pinkowski says. "Her record in the half marathon and full marathon experience complement each other, and the chemistry will produce some fast running."

Dan Padilla discusses running the Chicago Marathon to raise money for autism research and his 17-year-old son, Joshua, who is autistic and plays high school football.
