20 Arrested in New Year's Eve DUI Warrant Sweep

Police targeted individuals wanted in impaired driving and suspended license cases

A West Englewood man with a warrant for his third DUI case was among 20 people arrested in a New Year’s Eve warrant sweep targeting individuals wanted in impaired driving and suspended license cases.

Officers found 36-year-old Terrell Jackson hiding in the bathtub of his home in the 1600 block of West 61st Street, according to a statement from the Cook County Sheriff’s office.

Jackson appeared to be intoxicated when he was arrested, and he disobeyed the officers’ orders, police said. He faces a misdemeanor count of obstruction of service.

Officers arrested 19 other people with warrants out for their arrest in Chicago, Cicero, Markham and Maywood, police said. All their warrants had been issued in 2014.
