20-Year-Old Woman Killed in 4-Car Crash on I-55

A 20-year-old woman was killed in four-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 near Pontiac Thursday afternoon.

Ashley Borja, of Plainfield, was pronounced dead after the crash that also injured three others.

A preliminary investigation revealed Borja was traveling southbound on I-55 near mile post 201 when she crossed the center median and struck a vehicle driven by 63-year-old Rosanne Tenuta.

Borja was ejected from her vehicle and two other cars were hit with debris from the collision. Police said Borja was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Tenuta and a 19-year-old passenger in her car, Krista Tenuta, were transported to OSF St. Francis hospital in Peoria.

Four others involved in the crash were not hospitalized.

Part of northbound I-55 near mile maker 201 was closed while the crash was investigated. Traffic was diverted to Route 116.
