Two North Side Chicago Catholic schools are likely to merge at the end of this school year.
Sources with knowledge of the discussions tell NBC 5 that St. Margaret Mary School Northside Catholic Academy will form one school next fall, however both buildings will be used.
Northside is targeted for the elementary students with St. Margaret Mary for sixth through eighth grades.
Final details for the Rogers Park schools will be announced by the Archdiocese. The merger signals Archbishop Blase Cupich's plan to consolidate schools with low enrollment.
