2 More Girls Charged in Videotaped Fight

Man who shot cell phone video won't be charged

Two more teen girls have been charged in a fight caught on tape that left the victim burned, beaten and with her hair cut off.  But the young man who shot the brawl on a cell phone won't face charges, police told the Southtown Star.

The recording shows a group of girls kicking, punching, burning and cutting the hair of 17-year-old Mercedes Michaels.

A judge confined to their homes a 15-year-old from Crete and a 16-year-old from Steger, who are charged with aggravated battery in the Sauk Village attack. Sarah Kraft and Marcelena Castillo, both 17, have already been charged in the June 2 fight.

The 15-year-old girl cut Michaels' hair and burned her with a cigarette lighter, authorities said. The 16-year-old allegedly kicked Michaels while she was down.
