Two men are in custody after allegedly beating and robbing a U.S. Army soldier at a Red Line station Friday.
18-year-olds Vernon Reeves and Jimmy Williams are both facing felony robbery charges after allegedly beating and robbing the 31-year-old man at the Chicago and State Red Line stop on Friday afternoon, according to the Chicago police department.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the man stopped to let a woman off the train at the stop, and then a group of young men got into an argument with him.
When he tried to exit up the stairs, the group attacked him, kicking and punching him, the Cook County Assistant State's Attorney told the Tribune.
Two other juveniles are also in custody in connection with the incident, police said.
