2 Men Charged After Cops Seize Approximately 16 Kilos of Cocaine

Two men have been charged after a month-long investigation conducted by authorities that led to a seizure of approximately 16 kilos of suspected cocaine—an estimated street value of $512,000, authorities said.

McHenry County police issued a search warrant on Thursday at a warehouse located in the 9100 block of Trinity Drive in Lake in the Hills, where officials say two men of the 2300 block of Arrow in Carpentersville—Ivan A. Moreno-Gollegos, 18, and Juan C. Sanchez-Cacho, 40—were arrested and charged with unlawful delivery and possession of a controlled substance.

“The seizure of these illegal drugs, and arrests of the violators during these joint law enforcement efforts show the power of partnering together to attack those who funnel their narcotics into our communities,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge, Brian McKnight.

The DEA and Kane County Heroin Initiative Task Force spearheaded the investigation, which looked into a local distribution network.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office also assisted by issuing the search warrant.

“The cooperation between other county law enforcement agencies and our federal partnerships have proven to be a successful tool in the fight against narcotic distribution,” said Sheriff Don Kramer.
