The Interstate 57 feeder ramp from the Bishop Ford Freeway is closed after police say two people were shot during an incident involving two vehicles.
According to Illinois State Police, troopers responded to a reported expressway shooting near the junction of the Dan Ryan Expressway and Interstate 57 just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday night. According to police, preliminary information indicates that two people were shot during the incident.
Police say that a 26-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital from the scene, and a 22-year-old victim later walked into an area hospital, where he reported that he had been shot on the expressway.
After the shooting, the ramp from the inbound Bishop Ford onto southbound Interstate 57 was shut down for an investigation, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
Traffic from the inbound Bishop Ford Freeway is being diverted onto the northbound Dan Ryan rather than being allowed to continue onto Interstate 57, according to authorities.
