Two Killed in NW Side Crash

A man and woman were killed when a driver ran a red light and collided with their vehicle late Friday on the Northwest Side.

Javier Cisneros and Deborah Ceglarek, both 51, were killed in the crash, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said. Cisneros was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 11:46 p.m., while Ceglarek, of 5241 W. Irving Park Rd. was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 11:39 p.m.

The crash happened about 11:05 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Addison Street, police said.

The driver of a 1998 four-door Honda Accord was speeding north on Pulaski Road when he went through a red light and collided with another vehicle, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

Cisneros and Ceglarek were initially hospitalized but soon died.

The driver of the Accord was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and was initially listed in "stable" condition, fire officials said.

The man remained at the hospital Saturday morning and had not yet been charged or cited in the crash, police said.

The police Major Accidents Investigations Unit is investigating.
