2 Injured in Portage Park Blaze

A fire in Chicago’s Portage Park neighborhood late Sunday night left two people injured and at least nine people displaced, officials said.

The fire started just after 8 p.m. in a restaurant at the corner of Irving Park Road and Central Avenue, officials said.

The blaze took firefighters several hours to put out and sent two people to an area hospital with minor injuries from smoke inhalation, officials said.

The building was destroyed in the flames, leaving four adults and five children displaced.
