2 Hurt in Bishop Ford Expressway Shooting

Traffic on the Bishop Ford Expressway is moving again after a shooting that wounded two adults shut down all inbound lanes early Saturday.

The shooting happened around 2:50 a.m., in the inbound lane of the expressway (I-94), Illinois State Police District Chicago Master Sgt. Joseph Stangl said.

Details on how the confrontation unfolded weren’t immediately clear, but two adults shot were taken to an area hospital by a friend, Stangl said. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The shooting has shut down all inbound lanes of the expressway at Dolton while police investigate. Traffic was diverted around the incident using Torrence Avenue and 130th Street, Stangl said.

No one is in custody and Illinois State Police are investigating.
