Two men died and six other people were injured in shootings in Chicago since Wednesday, police said. Among the victims was Chicago rapper King Louie, according to a report.
A man was shot to death in a home in Austin in the 1000 block of North Lamon Ave about 6:17 p.m., according to police. The 39-year-old was pronounced dead the scene, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
A 33-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were shot in the 1100 block of North Leclaire Ave. around 1:45 p.m., according to police. The woman said a gunman shot them and left the scene. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A 19-year-old was shot in city's East Garfield Park around 2:40 p.m., according to police. He told officers that he was standing in the 100 block of South Homan Avenue when a car pulled up and fired shots. He was shot in the ankle and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stabilized condition.
At about 10:30 a.m. a 42-year-old man was shot in a drive-by in Gresham, according to police. He suffered a neck wound and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in stabilized condition, according to police.
Police said a 27-year-old man was shot in the head while in a vehicle in the 3900 block of West 83rd Street in Ashburn around 3:30 p.m.
The man was identified as rapper King L, known as King Louie, according to The Chicago Tribune. He has collaborated with Kanye West, Chief Keef, and Lil Herb.
A 25-year-old man was shot in Rosemoor in the 10300 block of South Forest Avenue at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, police said. The man attempted to disarm a robber when he was shot in the left hand. The victim was taken to Roseland Hospital in stabilized condition.
In Brainerd, a 29-year-old man was shot at 4:50 a.m. on Thursday, police said. The man was in the 9200 block of South Union Avenue and suffered a gunshot wound on the thigh. The incident appeared to have been a domestic incident.
Investigations into the shootings are ongoing.
