2 Charged in String of Skokie Home Burglaries

Five Skokie homes were robbed over a 10-hour period on Jan. 27

Two men were arrested last month in connection with a series of residential burglaries in Skokie, police said Friday.

Jonathan Staffney, 21, and Dante Huff, 18, both of Evanston, were arrested Feb 13 after a neighbor saw two subjects exiting a window during a burglary on the 7800 block of Kenneth Avenue and called police.

Five homes were robbed over a 10-hour period on Jan. 27, Skokie police said. The burglaries occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., and the thieves got away with jewelry, computer equipment and a flat-screen TV, police said.

Staffney, of 1407 Emerson St., was charged with four counts of residential burglary and one count of unlawful use of a weapon that police said was stolen from a Morton Grove home.

Dante Huff, of 1043 Dodge St., also was charged with residential burglary.

Skokie Police said they determined the suspects also were responsible for burglaries in Morton Grove in January.
