15-Year-Old Boy Dies 10 Days After Being Shot in Chicago

A 15-year-old South Side boy died early Monday, about 10 days after being shot in the Englewood neighborhood.

Ladarrius Jackson was walking in the 6800 block of South Sangamon about 8 p.m. on April 29 when someone walked up and opened fire, striking him repeatedly in the leg and abdomen, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jackson was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 4:05 a.m. Monday, authorities said. He lived in the 6900 block of South Elizabeth Street. 

No arrests have been made for the shooting, police said Monday night.

At least 27 other people were shot in Chicago that weekend.
