14-Year-Old Girl Shot in West Englewood

A police source said the shooting is possibly gang-related and the girl might not have been the intended target

A 14-year-old girl was shot Sunday morning in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The teenage girl was walking in the 6400 block of South Honore about 11:45 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up and someone got out and fired shots, police said.

She was shot in the elbow and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition, police said.

A police source said the shooting is possibly gang-related and the girl might not have been the intended target.
