A 13-year-old boy was walking on the sidewalk when two unknown vehicles began firing shots at each other Tuesday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood, authorities said.
The incident happened around 4:25 p.m. in the 11100 block of S. Princeton Ave.
Police said the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and self-transported to Roseland Hospital in serious condition.
As of Tuesday evening, no offenders were in custody, officials said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
