13 Students Injured in Bus Crash

None of the students' injuries appear to be life threatening

Thirteen students have been injured after a pickup truck collided with a school bus in Chicago's northern suburbs.

The Grayslake Fire Department says the accident happened at about 7:45 a.m. Saturday.

They were traveling to Woodstock to a volleyball tournament and none of the students' injuries appear to be life threatening.

School officials released a statement saying everyone aboard was safe.

"District 128 is pleased to report that all of the students and the coach involved in this morning's bus accident in Grayslake have been treated and released from area medical facilities, and that no one suffered serious injuries," said Mary Todoric, Director of Communications for Community High School District 128

Two of the students were treated at the scene and released. Eleven were transported to area medical centers, including one with a possible broken arm.

The accident remains under investigation.

Grayslake is about 40 miles north of Chicago.
