A young boy died Wednesday after he was accidentally shot in the stomach by a family member in Chicago’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, police said.
The 11-year-old boy was shot around 9 p.m. at a home near 74th and St. Lawrence, officials said.
He was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the boy as Antwone J. Price, of the 7400 block of South St. Lawrence.
Officers took one person into custody after the shooting.
