Ten restaurants in the Chicago area are among the highest-grossing independent restaurants in the country.
Gibsons Bar and Steakhouse’s Gold Coast location takes the top local spot, ranking number eight in Restaurant Business Magazine’s list of the "Top 100 Independent Restaurants."
Other Chicago area restaurants named among the biggest money-makers in the country include Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab (10th); Bob Chinn’s Crab House in Wheeling (18th); Hugo’s Frog Bar and Fish House ranking (31st); Shaw’s Crab House (58th); Quartino Ristorante and Wine Bar (59th); and Greek Islands (95th).
Gibsons’ suburban locations in Rosemont and Oak Brook ranked as well, placing 42nd and 57th.
Restaurants featured in the top 100 ranking made food and beverage sales above $9 million in 2013.
