A 10-year-old boy and his mother were injured in a dog attack Tuesday in the Roseland neighborhood on the city’s South Side, police said.

The boy was attacked by a neighbor’s pit bull around 12:30 p.m at 248 W. 113th St., according to police. His wounds include a gash to the back.

His mother, 41, was also attacked, suffering more severe injuries to her arm after it was chewed and dragged on by the dog, police said.

Both victims were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center following the attack and were listed in stable condition, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said.
