A person has died after a Metra train struck a vehicle on Sunday evening.
According to a Metra spokesperson, Rock Island train #122, heading for the LaSalle Street Station in the Loop, struck a vehicle after 5 p.m. Sunday evening.
A person inside the car was killed in the collision, according to the agency.
There were no other details available on the circumstances of the crash, and no details on any other injuries.
According to Metra, one outbound train was cancelled as a result of the collision, but the train is once again moving after the crash.
