One person was taken to a Chicago hospital after a fire in a high-rise Thursday morning, Chicago Fire Department officials confirmed.
The fire was reported just after 11 a.m. in the 300 block of North Canal, according to a CFD tweet.
Officials said there was one burn victim on the 16th floor. The fire is believed to have started from an electrical issue, fire officials said.
Metra service was impacted as a result of the blaze. CFD said train traffic was halted on the tracks at Canal.
Around noon, officials said the Metra tracks were clear in the area and normal operations had resumed.
No other injuries were reported. The condition of the burn victim was not immediately known.
