1 Killed, 5 Injured in Englewood Crash

One of the vehicles flipped over in the collision, and a person inside was killed

One person was killed and five others injured Wednesday in a multi-vehicle crash in Englewood on the South Side.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash around 5:30 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Stewart Avenue, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Three people were taken to a hospital in serious-to-critical condition and two others were taken in fair-to-serious condition, officials said.

The area around 71st street will remain closed as police conduct a crime investigation, fire officials said.

Police did immediately release details about the crash.
