A 17-year-old boy was killed and another injured in separate shootings in Chicago Thursday night.
The deadly shooting happened at 10:40 p.m. in the East Pilsen neighborhood.
Police say Niko Santiago was standing on the street in the 2000 block of South Canalport Avenue when a man driving a light-colored sport utility vehicle fired shots.
Santiago was struck in his chest and back, and pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives believe his death was gang-related.
Another 17 year old was taken to the hospital in serious condition after he was shot while walking in a group on the 7900 block of South Evans Avenue just before midnight.
A male attacker fired shots and struck the teen in his cheek and leg, according to police.
Investigators are looking for the gunmen in both incidents.
