One person was injured Friday morning in a high-rise fire on Chicago's Near North Side.
Firefighters responded at about 11:15 a.m. to the 27-floor building on the 200 block of East Ontario Street, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The blaze was contained to one unit on the seventh floor and extinguished in about a half hour.
One person was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair-to-serious condition, fire department spokesman Larry Langford said.
The garage was being used as a warming area for residents, Langford said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
