1 Injured, 7 Homeless After South Shore Fire

The blaze began in 2700 block of East 75th Place

One person was injured and seven people were displaced following a fire Sunday morning in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.

Firefighters responded about 5:16 a.m. to a still and box alarm in the 2700 block of East 75th Place, according to Fire Media Affairs.

One person was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center with minor injuries, according to Fire Media. Seven people were displaced from two buildings.

The fire was put out by 6:38 a.m., according to Fire Media.

The cause remains under investigation Sunday morning.
