Gas has been restored to several homes in the North Side neighborhood of Rogers Park following a gas leak Friday afternoon.
The leak was reported in the 2500 block of West Fargo. About 300 homes were left without heat as a result, according to Fire Media Affairs. Warming buses were provided for people whose homes were without gas service.
The leak was caused by third-party damage, according to Peoples Gas, who have since completed infrastructure repairs to restore gas service.
Gas has been restored for 95 percent of customers as of Saturday afternoon, according to Peoples Gas. The remaining customers were not available for technicians to restores service Friday night.
