Three men are charged with beating a family of four -- including a four-month-old child -- in Grant Park Thursday night near the Taste of Chicago festival.
The four family members -- ranging in age from four months to 25 years old -- were in the 300 block of East Jackson Drive about 8 p.m. Thursday when three men allegedly beat them, according to the release.
At the time of the alleged attack, the Taste of Chicago was taking place just south of the Jackson Drive address, which is also located in Grant Park.
Danta Densmore, 27, of the 7600 block of Artesian Avenue; Isaiah Densmore, 18, of the 7200 block of South Union Avenue; and and William Densmore, 35, of the 800 block of West 97th Street were arrested following the incident, according to a police News Affairs release.
All three are charged with aggravated battery of a child, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and two counts of aggravated battery in a public place, according to the release.
The four people were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and released, according to the release.
Violence continued later Thursday night when a 15-year-old boy leaving the Taste was stabbed in the back at 9:25 p.m. after seeing a group of men fighting the 200 block of South State Street, and police officers Tased a man at the same location in an apparently unrelated incident, police said. Two other boys, ages 14 and 15, were stabbed in a "melee" near the State Street address shortly after the first stabbing.

"For the first six days this has been a terrific event," Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis said Friday. "Last night things got a little bit out of hand, and we were able to quickly bring it back into line."
His comments followed 22 Thursday arrests, on top of three stabbings and police Tasering, at or near the food festival in Grant Park. All told, police have made 49 arrests -- five of them felony-related -- since the event opened on June 25.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating, but Weis said police had yet to make an arrest in either stabbing as of Friday.
Court information for the three men arrested after the alleged beating was not immediately available.
