No Joy in Toyville

FAO Schwarz leaving Macy's after Toys R' Us takeover

FAO Schwarz is jumping Macy's ship.

The toy stores will cease to operate inside Macy’s in November, the Sun-Times’ Sandra Guy reported.

That means the pull-out will happen just in time for Christmas. You're welcome, kids.

Toys R’ Us took over FAO Schwarz this week. FAO’s Web site and stores in New York and Las Vegas will continue to operate, according to Bloomberg.

A Macy’s spokeswoman said they were “disappointed” over the loss of FAO Schwarz. They had planned to expand it into other Macy’s stores, according to Bloomberg.

Macy’s hasn’t decided what will replace FAO.
