Adam Robinson, the founder of local candidate-profiling company Hireology, has reported a list of what he sees as three major emerging trends in HR practices evident from the recent Society for Human Resource Management's Annual Conference and Exposition -- the year's biggest HR shindig. They are as follows: "the rise of niche players, job boards are being displaced by social recruiting, and HR is giving small vendors a shot."
On that middle point, it confirms something anyone recently out of work might be suspecting: Board-sites like Monster, Careerbuilder, and Dice are being eschewed by HR folks for "social sourcing and referral platforms like JobVite who automate the process of leveraging online connections to produce qualified candidates." Robinson gives a shout out specifically to BranchOut's new Facebook-based app that's catching on like gangbusters.
