Don't be alarmed while traveling throughout the country next week if you can't find a Northwest Airlines representative or counter.
The two airlines merged last October, forming the world's largest airline, and they've recently ramped up efforts to rebrand and consolidate services.
As the two airlines come together, Delta said it is working to make the transition a seamless one for customers and employees.
In Chicago, customers flying on Northwest- or Delta-operated flights from Chicago O’Hare International Airport will notice changes beginning next week as they travel throughout the country. Northwest employees will don new Delta uniforms, many of Northwest's hub airports will be rebranded with Delta signage and improved products and services will appear onboard.
The airline also announced Friday the launch of a nonstop daily flight from Salt Lake City to Chicago's Midway Airport to compete with low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines.
Also in June, Delta will fly once daily to Lincoln, Neb.
Additional flights to Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport will step up Delta's competition with rivals American Airlines and United Airlines, which operate hubs at those airports.
Delta also will launch a Saturday flight starting June 20 between Salt Lake and Cranbrook, British Columbia in Canada.
