In yet another example that Chicago is a business incubator, lots of Chicago-area companies are taking part in the big-city Consumber Electronic Show in Las Vegas that takes place Tuesday through Friday.
If you're reading this blog but aren't familiar with the show, congratulations: You might be, in part, a technophobe.
The Consumer Electronics Show is a trade show held in Vegas every January, and it previews up-and-coming gadgets, no matter how doofy they might be, but since it isn't open to the public it's intended strictly to generate buzz and get people psyched for things like water-resistant Bluetooth speakers you can put in the shower.
(Anti-fog shower mirror sold separately. Really.)
All teasing aside, it's a big deal. And Chicago is represented in full force there, with 87 exhibitors flaunting their goods there.
