Chicago Ideas Week Profiles: Work, The Remix

Chicago Ideas Week is coming back once again, and the third time around we’re all hopefully more savvy about the event and what it offers. But nobody’s an expert, and nobody can possibly be expected to catch everything they’d want at the annual gathering of minds from multiple disciplines all over our city from Oct. 14 through Oct. 20. Here's some help.

The event: Work, The Remix. This $15 event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. You can find it at Morningstar, located at 22 W. Washington.

Who is speaking: Peter Himmelman, founder of Big Muse; Tom Yorton, CEO of Second City Communications; and Kelly Leonard, executive vice president of The Second City.

Why you should care: This master class is all about energizing a dull workplace, which is something more than a few people can relate to. Himmelman doesn't believe the office needs to be a lifeless environment, but instead advocates for communication and creativity. Who knows how productive a business could be with these minor changes.
