Chicago Ideas Week is coming back once again, and the third time around we’re all hopefully more savvy about the event and what it offers. But nobody’s an expert, and nobody can possibly be expected to catch everything they’d want at the annual gathering of minds from multiple disciplines all over our city from Oct. 14 through Oct. 20. The event: Inventables: Digital Making Lab. It takes place Sunday, Oct. 20 from 2 p.m. ’til 4:30 p.m. at Chicago Ideas Week Headquarters (401 N. Michigan Ave.) Tickets aren’t yet available, but keep an eye out here.
Who’s speaking: Zach Kaplan, CEO of Inventables will lead the demonstration on 3D printing and how it can work for you.
Why you should care: If Inventables isn’t on your radar, well, it should be. Inc. Well paid the company a visit late last year for A Peek Inside, and once there Kaplan told me that a significant portion of his ecommerce and online hardware store’s customers are Etsy sellers. In other words: If you’re thinking you’d like to go into business and manufacture something, but don’t know what, this is not a bad place to start and network.
