City officials expect a $15 million annual economic impact from a trade show that will move from Indianapolis to Chicago for at least the next three years.
The Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo will be held at McCormick Place in 2014, 2015 and 2016, officials announced Wednesday. The first Chicago show is slated for Dec. 5-7, 2014.
The shows are expected to attract about 10,000 attendees each year.
The deal is touted as another consequence to the deal worked out between two major unions at McCormick Place and Navy Pier last year.
So far, more than $6 billion in shows have signed, extended or renewed their plans since those work rule reforms to effect, city officials said.
