After Bad Loss, Clausen Gets Punched

Jimmy Clausen gets black eye after ND's last loss Saturday

Just a few hours after Notre Dame's season ended with a whimper, Jimmy Clausen's face was met with a bang.

The Notre Dame quarterback was out at a South Bend, Indiana bar when, according to the Chicago Tribune, an irate fan started beef with Clausen. The man allegedly pushed Clausen's girlfriend outside of CJ's Pub, according to an anonymous source who spoke to the South Bend Tribune. When Clausen pushed the man back, the man punched him in the face. Clausen reportedly had a black eye, according to the Tribune's source.

No charges were pressed, as no police reports were filed this weekend that involve Clausen.

While this might be cause for minor schadenfreude among angry ND fans -- or anyone that wanted to see Jimmy Clausen get punched in the face, fan or not -- the Tribune is reporting that Clausen was at CJ's Pub with family and friends earlier in the evening. Some of his teammates were there, likely lamenting the end of the season in a not-so-sober way.

So, sure, ha ha. Jimmy Clausen got punched. But whoever decided to punch Clausen, if unprovoked, is not a very nice human being. Football or no football, that's just not cool.
